move or start a non-profit….

I really can’t decide which of these is the better option. Unfortunately, the trends that prompt this question aren’t likely to get better someplace else in the US.

The first thing I catch on the news this morning is a Republican Assemblyman trying to ban sex education. While he phrases the way he’d like to see it enacted quite well, not STOPPING sex education, merely require that parents are warned so they can keep their children out of health when anything that might be sexual, like the human body, is discussed, sounds mostly harmless, one of the statements he made on the news amounted to the fact that teaching children about sex and their bodies promotes homosexual behaviour.

Then, I log in to check the news. First thing I see is that three groups are suing to stop the duly voted upon stem cell research. And guess what? They’re all Christian groups, including one newly formed non-profit, People’s Advocate and the National Tax Limitation Foundation.

Hence the question, is it safer to give up and get the fuck out, or are there enough educated, non-brainwashed people out there to make a difference.
